Ultimate Shot is documentary/reality style program that will follow the most-accomplished bow hunter who ever lived in his hunting adventures.
"Nesbitt is in a league of his own. It's hard to fathom how a guy can hunt so much and be so darn good at it. I know a lot of successful bowhunters. And, believe me, none of them are close to walking in his shoes."
Glen Hisey
"He's been called "Canada's Premier Bowhunter," and in many ways Archie Nesbitt is the most-accomplished bowhunter who ever lived."
Jason Butler
Join us in a journey around the world. Our planet is a hunting paradise! One person will show you the world like you have never seen it before! Dangers will not stop him, nature will not distract him from the impossible task to hunting everywhere with a bow and arrow. Be with us to share this adventure in search of the Ultimate Shot.
The host Archie Nesbitt for the show:
“Ultimate Shot will take you on hunting adventures across six continents in search of world class trophies. We will show you the role of hunting organizations in a conservation and preservation of wild life. On our journeys you will see a multitude of animals that inhabit the highlands and lowlands and everything in between. We will show you the history and traditions of the local people and you will see their homelands. I believe it is about opening up the world's eyes to inform them about conservation and preservation of the World’s hunted wildlife, and the forever sustained use and protection of that wildlife. It is about creating a value in that wildlife renewable resource for the local peoples, so that they protect and preserve that wildlife resource and helping fellow bow hunters and conservationists experience the wildlife resources of the world, with the local / traditional hunters of that wildlife. By doing that, we sustain that value and create the future value for the local people so that for generations – hopefully forever – these animals and their habitat will be protected and preserved… that is what I have been doing since 1980.”
ARCHIE J NESBIIT - BOWHUNTER
CALGARY, ALBERTA. CANADA
Archie Nesbitt was raised in the back woods for North America where hunting and fishing was a way of life. His grandfather got him his first recurve bow when Archie was 13 years old and the pursuit of trophy white-tailed deer then became a passion. “My dad was a pioneer bush pilot and mine finder in Northern CANADA , and growing up in the mineral exploration business, I had the opportunity to hunt in places never before and never again hunted by humans. Animals were food but they also were not afraid of humans, so archery added the missing challenge that I needed”.
After finishing school Archie moved west to Calgary, Alberta and has since practiced law and been a senior executive officer and member of the Board of Directors of a number of public and private corporations active internationally mainly in mining and oil and gas. The Rocky Mountains became his back yard. Elk, Antelope, Mule and White-tailed Deer, Big Horn Sheep, Grizzly Bears. Moose and Cougars were added to the list.
“Joining the POPE & YOUNG CLUB really gave me an association with the likes of FRED BEAR and with thousands of other archery hunters committed to the same ethical hunting and wildlife conservation objectives. Today I still shoot for BEAR ARCHERY and TROPHY RIDGE so you can not help but feel like Fred is there with you all the time”.
When a close friend showed me pictures of his “BIG 5”, I immediately joined SAFARI CLUB INTERNATIONAL and in 2004 my dream came true when I achieved even more, the “AFRICAN BIG 7”
“When I hunt in another country, I am hunting with talented hunters who really do share the same commitment to wildlife. I am a foreigner, but they have allowed me to share in their lives and their hunting experiences. Introducing archery hunting is almost always a
challenge and a lot of patience and effort for everyone. But it is always worth it, because it is really hunting in the true sense of the word. SCI has really given me an international involvement in archery hunting, and it has given me friends on six continents.”
Archie has hunted six continents and more than 40 countries with his bow and arrow and many, many times he is the first bow hunter to open the door and enter a country and pursue wild game.
He is the VERY FIRST ARCHERY HUNTER to achieve and receive:
- in 2005 the GRAND SLAM CLUB/OVIS TRIPPLE SLAM – the Grand Slam of North American Sheep, the OVIS ( 12 species of wild sheep) WORLD SLAM , the CAPRA ( 12 species of wild goats)WORLD SLAM ;
- in 2008 the coveted GRAND SLAM CLUB “ OVIS “AWARD;
- in 2009 the SCI top hunting award the SCI WORLD HUNTING & CONSERVATION AWARD;
- in 2011 the GSCO OVIS and CAPRA WORLD SLAM SUPER 20;
- in 2015 the top award for hunting and conservation the SCI C.J. McELROY AWARD;
- in 2017 entry into LA CONFRADIA CULMINUM MAGISTER;

- in 2018 the GSCO SLAM QUEST “PINNACLE” AWARD , # 1 for Archery and # 17 for all hunters in the World
Additionally, in 2007 Archie received the SCI WORLD HUNTING AWARD and RING.
Currently Archie has entered over 110 World Records and more than 370 big game animals into the SCI Records and World Hunting Awards programs. Authors have named Archie the “Superman of Bow hunting”
“I have done a lot for bow hunting and I like to share my experiences with fellow bow hunters because everyone has dreams, they are just different. Wildlife is the most important part of a hunter’s life and hunting preserves and maintains healthy wildlife populations and this is why I put something back and give a lot of my time to organizations like SCI”
In the last few years Archie has been the host on over 50 international bow hunting videos and in 2010 launched his television series – “THE ULTIMATE SHOT”. Currently THE
ULTIMATE SHOT is viewed in over 60 countries, and in many languages, .internationally.
Archie joined SCI in 1981 and is a life member. He has formed several SCI Chapters and been President of SCI Chapters for 27 years and a member of the SCI Board of Directors for over 30 years. He has been a member and participant in many SCI Committees.
